Gia Carangi For Cutex Nail Polish, 1980

I chose today's blast from the past in honor of yet another new blog template. I found the other one to be not so easy on the eyes, so I decided to "rethink pink!"  I can read this one much more easily.

Gia Carangi really was one of the greatest models who ever lived, although her time at the top was just under three years.  She lost her looks, her career, and ultimately her life to heroin.

Gia was one of the first American women to die of AIDS, in 1986.  The only fashion photographer who publicly mourned her was Francesco Scavullo.

R.I.P., Gia Marie.
