For some reason, the elegant golden elevator to nowhere really gets to me. And the abandoned pool. I'll bet if you are really quiet on those premises, you can still hear the sounds of children laughing and splashing.
The bar is really sad, too. I wonder about who served drinks there and listened to countless stories from hotel patrons.

Man, I've never even heard of California City, and I've lived in both No and So Cal! I love abandoned places even though they make me sad!
