My mother has three formal dresses she wore to high school proms and homecoming from 1972-1976... each of them are long sleeved and high collared, floor length formals. When I first got my hands on them, I was kinda like "Was this Mormon high school or something? Are shortened sleeves verboten?" because I wanted a prom dress like Carrie's pre-pig's-blood. The look of them grows on you though-- plus the sharp collars make a great frame for Farrah hair.
