Prom 1977: Girls In Long Sleeves

Quite an elegant, romantic look, I think.

Perfect for that first slow dance: Mary MacGregor's "Torn Between Two Lovers," which spent two weeks atop the Billboard chart in February 1977.

  2. My mother has three formal dresses she wore to high school proms and homecoming from 1972-1976... each of them are long sleeved and high collared, floor length formals. When I first got my hands on them, I was kinda like "Was this Mormon high school or something? Are shortened sleeves verboten?" because I wanted a prom dress like Carrie's pre-pig's-blood. The look of them grows on you though-- plus the sharp collars make a great frame for Farrah hair.

Great posts, I've been enjoying all the prom-age. :)
