From 1993: Jeremy Jordan...All Right

Haters gonna hate.

I love this song.

It was the one saving grace from that horrid spring of 1993, when my entire worldview was shattered by Dylan McKay choosing slutty Kelly over soulful Brenda.

And no, I am still not over it.

For those of you who do not remember (perhaps because you are too young...yeesh!), Beverly Hills, 90210 had popular tunes and videos playing over the ending credits most of the time.  This song was one of them, and had a little Donna Martin cameo at the very beginning, standing at a jukebox at the Peach Pit.  She looks up and says, "Jeremy Jordan...all right!"

From 1990: Baby, Just Sing About The Groove

A bit of trivia: a few of the dancers in this video were infamous on the NYC party circuit at that time as some of Michael Alig's Club Kids.

From 1991: Tonya Harding Lands The Triple Axel In Competition

The first U.S. woman to do so, and it must be said, it was a MASSIVE triple axel. Tonya always had wonderfully high, fast jumps.

God bless you, Tonya. You always have mad props and the utmost respect from me.

Let's have another look at that triple axel, this time in 1992.

Massive. Look at the screen capture...the HEIGHT that chick got up from the ice, and her body perfectly straight up and down.

Everybody Wants A Lover Like That

From 1992. Most of the clothing in this video is by Thierry Mugler, especially the metal pieces. Look at a very young and incredibly beautiful Tyra Banks!

The woman with the long dark hair and the black leatherette catsuit is none other than Julie Newmar.

There was supposed to be a catfight scene between Linda Evangelista and Shana Zadrick, but it was cut, as it was deemed too risque'.

Back in the summer of 1992, I had this cassette single and I think I played it 4,563,907 times.

From April 1990: Christy Turlington In Ungaro

Vogue

For a couple of years after this first appeared in the magazine, I had this page tacked up on my wall. I was, and continue to be, struck by how beautiful this image is. Christy Turlington has taken a lifetime of iconic, stunning photographs. For me, this is one of the most memorable.
