If It's Friday, That Means "Frampton"

What a living doll.

I haven't been around much lately.  I've been really busy with actual writing work, and while I always mean to update this blog, it always seems to fall by the proverbial wayside.

Do you ever read Peter Frampton's Facebook page?  If you don't, you should, as in, yesterday.  He is a very funny, very droll individual.  He writes about his music as well as other little tidbits from his life, such as going to the mall so he can browse at the Apple store.

Here's my favorite of his, a 1975 recording of "Doobie Wah."

From 1965: Carve Your Number On My Wall And Maybe You Will Get A Call From Me

Please, folks...I am not a snob as a general rule, but please, please listen to The Beatles in mono only.

The tunes were mixed for mono, so if you want to hear the songs the way that the lads themselves and Sir George Martin meant for the world to hear them, opt for the mono mixes.

p.s. This is another tune that was inspired by the greatest rock n' roll muse of all time, Pattie Boyd.

Grasshopper: Michelle Phillips

Michelle Phillips
1966

"Got A Feelin'" is one of the many songs inspired by Michelle.  This song was penned by her husband, John, about her affair with Denny Doherty.  It is one of my favorites because it is one of my Mom's favorites, and it features Michelle's delicate, lyrical soprano prominently.

From 1976: Beautiful Bebe Buell

Some pictures just scream "The Seventies" without any captioning necessary.

Cameron Crowe used Bebe Buell as a source of inspiration for his genius film Almost Famous. When you look at the second photograph, is there really any doubt as to why?
