"Got A Feelin'" is one of the many songs inspired by Michelle.  This song was penned by her husband, John, about her affair with Denny Doherty.  It is one of my favorites because it is one of my Mom's favorites, and it features Michelle's delicate, lyrical soprano prominently.

See, that's why The Seventies were awesome. Truckers were cool, they openly smoked Kimo Sabe in their cabs, on any given day you might have run into Cher on roller skates wearing zebra print skintight leotards, cops and bikers were friends, and gorgeous drag queens channeling Lady Day could be found at truck stops.

This was the theme song to the 1979 epic, Roller Boogie.

Beautiful Mia Farrow in 1967, when she was still Mrs. Frank Sinatra

Despite a quite acrimonious divorce in 1968 (Frank famously served her papers in her flower-child trailer on the set of Rosemary's Baby, and she cried so hard that she was unable to shoot for days afterward) and a union that lasted merely two years, Mia and Sinatra remained very close until his death, and she is still on excellent terms with the remainder of the Sinatra family.

A coordinated tuxedo to his gal's pretty pink dress? You cannot beat that for style! She's so winsome and lithe; he's so Everybody's All-American. I wonder if her mother made her dress all special? Do you notice that it kind of resembles the Carrie White glamourwear?

(p.s. As is the case with all of my bloggings, I make fun of my subjects, but deep down within, there is a healthy respect...for the effort that was made, for the history involved, for the sheer charm that comes from innocence and youth. Such is the case here. I'm teasing about them, sure; but can you imagine the glamour and excitement of that dance? Those orange blossoms were fashioned with such care! Such a lovely chuppah for the prom couple to pose under! Can you just hear the thump thump thump of the disco beat on the dance floor? I'm talkin' burn, baby, burn...Disco Inferno! Burn, baby, burn...burn that mutha down!)

From 1961: Elegance, As You Sip Your Liqueur On Continental Airlines' Golden Jet

The "Golden Jet" at Continental was a reference to their pride and joy, a brand-new Boeing 707 fleet. In 1961, Continental was still a small carrier, compared to giants such as TWA, Pan Am, Eastern, and American. The 707s were used not only to make runs between Hawaii and the West Coast, but as U.S. military charters over to the growing war in VietNam.

So it's a one-two punch to my dreams of owning Le Auto De Glamour: My man and The man both say No. Now, how's a girl supposed to express her inner bombshell if forces conspire against her like that?
