From 1941: L'Origan, For Your Golden Moments

Simply because I think this ad is beautiful.

It was first made by Coty in 1905!

From 1947: When You're In Love

Such an enchanting and beautiful ad.  I love it.

According to one of my favorite sites, Fragrantica, Muguet des Bois is the work of nose Henri Robert, who created another of my favorite scents, Cristalle.

From 1975: Ewwwwwwwww.

I just don't know what to say about this spot.

I will say that I wore Love's Baby Soft and Love's Fresh Lemon for years.

From 1981: Dioressence

Created in 1969 by perfumer Guy Robert, this somewhat-rare perfume has top notes of violet and rosebud, a middle note of geranium, and bottom notes of cinnamon and patchouli. It was created during the "Oriental" fragrance boom.

I've smelled it; I like it. It's the kind of fragrance that might wear a woman, instead of the other way around. I already have one Big Fragrance like that that is one of my signatures: Fracas by Robert Piguet. I didn't feel the need to add another to my wardrobe.

From 1985: Willow Bay Is Beautiful

I have been wearing this scent, off and on, for over twenty years. It is also the perfume I wore on my wedding day.

From 1965: Scent Your Letters With Shalimar By Guerlain

I don't personally care for Shalimar, but I do find this ad intriguing and beautiful.

From 1967: Gorgeous Is Your Dior

Just a really lovely ad, I think.

You can close your eyes and imagine how happy that elegant woman is to receive a bountiful bouquet of trembling pink and white blossoms. Freesia, perhaps?

I believe it was illustrated by the legendary artist Rene Gruau,
who created all of Christian Dior's stunning fashion illustrations for decades.

From 1978: The Most Beautiful Woman Who Ever Lived

You don't need to speak a word of French to understand how great this movie is.
This is my favorite scene, where Miss Deneuve eats potato chips and rides in a convertible through Paris at night with her lover, Antoine.

GORGEOUS Ad: Charles Of The Ritz, Easter 1946

New Yorker Magazine
March 1946
As with all of my jpegs, double-clicking the item will enable you to get a better look and read the text.
It has long been discontinued, which is very sad, especially when you consider that floozy juice like Paris Hilton's perfume remains on American store shelves.
